Rodent Feeder

with 2 comments

I love having a bird feeder outside my kitchen window. Problem is, birds don’t frequent it that often…

These pests usually clean it out before birds have much of a chance.

there’s a patio screen about halfway between the feeder and camera that compromises focus and sharpness a bit

I know they have to eat too, but geez, do they have to go through all of my bird feed? Nothing I’ve tried (mixing pepper with the food, greasing the feeder pole, running outside and screaming at them while frantically waving my arms…) keeps them away. Grrrrr.

  1. Greasing the pole is an awesome idea :) Hahaha! Comical, but, sorry about your bird feeder. Pesky pests!

    • As silly as it seems, it actually worked for a bit! Last year I coated it good with Crisco and they didn’t even try to climb up. This year they don’t seem to mind and scramble on up. I saw a bird try to perch on the side of the pole and slide down a bit before it flew off. :)
