Cigar Box Guitar #2

I made another Cigar Box Guitar!

Making the first one was a lot of fun and I didn’t wait long before starting on this one. Its more of an electric model, using a single coil pickup wired with volume and tone controls (gotten pre-wired from ebay). The plugged in sound is much better than the first one but, lacking a sound hole, it doesn’t have as much volume or character when played acoustically. I was able to get the action much lower on this one and it’s a lot easier to play than the first, which also makes it a lot more fun to play.

I made another slide show with pictures of the build and the guitar is being played [by me, sloppily] in the background. I’m playing it through a 20 watt Marshall tube amp, in the over driven channel with the gain turned way down and reverb cranked up a fair amount.

It was a lot of fun making this and I plan on doing more, probably starting on the next one in a few weeks.

Thanks a lot for reading and Happy Playing!
