Drying Mice

with 5 comments

One of our cats, Linus, likes to put toys in their water bowl. Especially toy mice. It’s a cute little quirk, but is also equally annoying. He gets the water bowl all dirty and leaves dirty little kitty paw prints all over the house. Besides, the mice get soaked and have to dry out before we can let any of the cats play with them again.

This is often the scene on the wash line in our basement.

    • Thanks for sharing! It’s good to see my cat isn’t the only one that does this, though it’s still a little annoying. :)

      • It’s so cute when he does it. He’ll even steal my hair ties and puts them in his water bowl. ;)

  2. Hahaha! My parents’ cats do the same thing. I imagine it is the sign of a great hunting cat, but rather a hassle for you :) I like that photo!…. a colorful, if not odd scene of the mice hanging to dry :)

    • Linus, though very curious and playful, certainly doesn’t strike me as a good hunter. He’s just not that bright. :) Thanks about the photo! We’ve been doing this for a couple years at least, drying the mice on the line after he soaks them, and it just struck me last week how silly it was and that I should take a picture of it.
